Kiera Carter_Lucas Zhao_Tribeca_New York

I'm a writer, editor, and digital strategist, focusing on women's issues, health, fitness, nutrition, and beauty.

I've covered the politics of female body hair for Marie Claire, the dark side of wedding planning for Brides, inequalities in heart disease research for Marie Claire, and sun protection for Prevention, the last of which won the Skin Cancer Foundation's annual media award. My Cosmopolitan feature "How to Go to Rehab" was nominated for a National Magazine Award in the category of personal service.

I've hosted videos for Prevention and Men's Health and appeared on TV shows like MTV "True Life Crime" and "Inside Edition." You might have also seen my work in Runner's World, Seventeen, Glamour, Travel + Leisure, and Shape, where I was previously on staff as the executive editor of the website.

In my role at Shape, I oversaw the digital lineup, including SEO-driven features and special projects across the brand's core subject areas. Priorities included publishing trustworthy content under tight deadlines, engaging readers with compelling display copy, and covering the timely topics most important to women today. I also managed sponsored content for brands such as Reebok, Fitbit, The North Face, and Athleta.

Most recently, I was the editor-at-large at Women's Health, where I functioned as features director, editing a front-of-book section called Warm Up, the love and lifestyle section, and some larger packages. Before that, I filled in for the executive editor (top editing the magazine) and digital director (top editing the website). I've also held print and digital staff positions at Men's Health, Prevention, FitPregnancy, and Fitness.
